Technical envelope

Sized for every drive duty

Every coupling ships to a documented material, torque, speed and misalignment specification. Custom bore configurations and stainless variants are quoted to your drawing.

Hub material

C45 steel (standard), 40Cr alloy steel, 304 stainless, aluminum 6061-T6

C45 covers standard industrial duties; 40Cr is chosen for reversing shock loads; 304 stainless for washdown environments; aluminum for low-inertia servo drives where reflected inertia matters.

Flexible element

Polyurethane (Shore A 92-95), Hytrel, bronze, NBR, spring steel grid, stainless disc pack

Element selection tunes the coupling's torsional stiffness, damping and temperature range — Hytrel for high torque with low damping; bronze for very high torque; NBR for oil-resistant duty.

Coupling types

Jaw, gear, disc, grid, chain, Oldham and rigid sleeve

Jaw for general purpose; gear for high torque with misalignment; disc for precision servo drives; grid for shock damping; chain for economical replacement; Oldham for large parallel offset.

Bore range

6 mm to 200 mm (0.25" to 8.00") depending on coupling size

Bores are machined to interference or clearance fits per customer spec; keyways are cut to ANSI B17.1 or DIN 6885 with tolerances that suit the intended service factor.

Torque capacity

0.5 Nm to 250,000 Nm depending on type and size

Ratings are stated as continuous torque with a service factor of 1.0; peak torque capability is typically 2× continuous, and instantaneous shock capacity 3-4×.

Max speed

Up to 25,000 RPM for disc couplings; 3,600 RPM typical for standard jaw

Disc couplings achieve high speeds due to their zero-lubrication design; grease-filled gear couplings must be re-lubricated at intervals scaled to speed and duty.

Misalignment capacity

Angular 0.5° – 2° · Parallel 0.25 – 5 mm · Axial ±0.5 – 3 mm

Values are the maximum sustained misalignment the coupling can tolerate at rated torque; halving misalignment can more than double element service life.

Surface treatment

Phosphated, zinc plated, black oxide, or passivated (stainless)

Finish is selected for the operating environment; passivated stainless couplings are the norm for food, pharma, marine and chemical processing installations.
