How it's made

SEC. 02 // MANUFACTURING
01

Vacuum melt & VIM

Alloys are vacuum-induction melted for low residuals; critical service grades are additionally VAR-remelted.

Hot rolling & forging

Ingots are converted to bar by hot rolling or open-die forging with tight thermal control to avoid intergranular carbide precipitation.

03

Solution annealing

Bars are solution-annealed and water-quenched to lock in optimum corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.

04

Straightening & finishing

Bars are roller-straightened, centreless-ground where required, and stamped with heat number for full traceability.

Rarely — stainless pits and cracks in high-chloride environments where Monel is specified. Substitute only after a corrosion review against the actual service.
600 is a nickel-chromium alloy for general high-temperature service; 625 adds molybdenum and niobium for far better strength and pitting resistance in aggressive media.
